Here is my first contribution for the club website.

A small group get together at Han's shop, most every Saturday, to talk about current events and maybe discuss modelling. This Saturday Mike showed up with a model that was originally owned by Phillip Soden. Mike was having a terrible time trying to sort out the physical connections on the model and was not familiar with the Multiplex 3030 transmitter. Well. Mike came to the right place. He got all the help and advice that he needed to get this model going, plus advice that he most definitely could due without.

Jim brought with him a balancer which he purchased from "Toni Clarke" in Germany. This balancer has a spirit level indicator that will show how far off center the propeller is from center as well as traditional balancing of the prop blades all at once. He uses this balancer manly for the very large propellers he uses on his tow plane. I'm not sure if it is suitable for smaller sized propellers.

I brought with me my disassembled DA-85 engine. I got Han's to check the "runout" on my crankshaft with a dial gauge indicator. The indicator proved the crankshaft to be true. Last season my Pilatus Porter had severe propeller vibration emanating for the engine. I thought maybe, the crankshaft got bent somehow. Thankfully that was not the case. We did ,however, find that the spinner was the problem. It's true when they say: "You get what you pay for" I will be replacing it with a tru-turn before spring arrives.
